Which Exterior Paint is Best?

Are you a homeowner looking to give the exterior of your house a fresh new look? Choosing the right exterior paint is an important decision that can enhance your home and protect it from the elements.

At the Italian Building Centre, we know that selecting the perfect paint can be overwhelming, which is why we've put together this guide to help you make the best choice for your home.

Exterior paint

When it comes to exterior paint, there are two main types to choose from: water-based and oil-based. Water-based paints are typically more environmentally friendly and easier to clean up, while oil-based paints are known for their durability and resistance to water.

Exterior paint - the finish

In terms of finish, you have a few options to choose from. A matte finish exterior paint is a popular choice for those looking for a more traditional look, while a semi-gloss finish can add a touch of elegance to your home. High-gloss paints are also an option, but they can be difficult to work with and may not be the best choice for large surfaces.

The colour

When it comes to colour, the options are endless. Neutral colours are a safe bet and can complement any style of home, while bold colours can add a pop of personality. It's important to consider the overall aesthetic of your home and neighbourhood when choosing a colour, as well as the climate and lighting conditions.

At the Italian Building Centre, we offer a wide range of high-quality exterior paints in a variety of colours and finishes. Our knowledgeable staff can help you choose the right paint for your home and provide expert advice on application and maintenance.
